When I was 16, life felt like a constant uphill battle. I struggled through high school, facing challenges that often left me feeling behind. I loved learning, but it seemed like every time I tried to catch up, something else would hold me back. It was tough, and I felt like I was falling short. But in hindsight, those challenges ended up leading me to the best decision I could have made: enrolling at North Cosmetology School.

 

I was the youngest student in my class, and honestly, it felt a little intimidating at first. But hair was my escape, my passion, and it kept me going. I poured myself into my studies, and it paid off—I passed every class and test with flying colors, earning A’s across the board. In May of 2012, I graduated from cosmetology school, and it was on the same day as my high school class. It was a surreal moment, one of those rare instances when you realize you’ve made the right choice for yourself, even if it took a while to find it.

 

For over 10 years, I’ve called Tallahassee home, falling in love with the charm of the Midtown area. In 2020, I opened High Key Studios with a dream in mind: to create a laid-back, luxury space where clients could feel at home, comfortable, and truly seen. I wanted to build a place where people could walk in feeling vulnerable—whether it’s your first time in a salon or you’re just needing a change—and walk out feeling like the best version of themselves.

 

I know how intimidating it can be to walk into a salon, especially when you’re trusting someone with something as personal as your appearance. That’s why I believe in being real and transparent with my clients. I want High Key Studios to be a space where you don’t have to hide who you are. It’s important to me that you feel heard, understood, and welcome, so you can leave not just with great hair, but with a renewed sense of confidence, knowing you’re exactly where you belong.​
